Jousting/Twinsworrds, does it make you a better or worse player?
Do you feel that mods like twinswords/jousting make you a better or worse player later on in the game, in other mods such as wushu/judo/tk/kb/aikido? As a white belt many players often find themselves drawn to the simplicity and quick games of jousting/twinswords, however later on in the ranks, jousting alongside twinswords lose their status as an official/stickied mod? Had these whitebelts spent time playing other mods that related to the overall style of the game, would they be better? Or have they gained something from these two mods?

What do you think?

(Sorry if this doesn't belogn in the debate section, I didn't see any other toribash related debates so I am kinda worried?)
(Hive people only, haha!)
yes had they spent time in other mods they would be better. That doesn't mean though that they make you bad. These mods are more "softcore" games that require les skill and more fun perfect for white belts. You don't improve much in these mods but you don't get worse.

For the most part I agree with that guy up there ^

I will add though that you DO learn the basics of control from these mods, and the funness is sort of bonus.

On the flip side, I only mostly played beta-box when I first started, so I still suck at and enjoy both twinswords and jousting

I bet that you won't beat me in Jousting, that means that basic controls knowledge won't help you. Even mods like sumo or twinswords skill.
I don't think playing modes such as Joust and Twinswords make you any worse, but it certainly won't improve your skills either.
skill in these mods is not universal, so it won't improve your aikido/sambo/judo/wushu?(twinswordspro has much in common with wushu)/tk/kb/etc skills. You just need to learn special tactics, moves, and get some understanding.
There is a level of skill in Jousting that can be achieved through prolonged study of the gametype and intimate knowledge of every school of jousting combat, and the openers that come from them. Calling it a basic gametype isn't quite fair.
