From what I see it looks sort of like the game risk, but i'm not really sure..

"Empire: Total War is a 2009 real-time tactics and turn-based strategy computer game. Developed by the Creative Assembly and published by Sega, the game was released in North America on 3 March 2009 and in Europe on 4 March.[2] Announced in August 2007,[4] Empire: Total War is the fifth installment in the Total War series. The game focuses on the modern era period of the 18th and 19th centuries.[5] The game follows a similar style of play as earlier Total War titles: players choose a contemporary faction and set out to ensure their faction's domination over the known world through military force, politics, diplomacy, espionage and economics. Although the campaign element of the game is turn-based, players can direct battles in real-time. Empire: Total War is the first game in the series to allow naval battles to be conducted in real-time.And a unique game play feature only for Empire: Total War,The Road to Independence, allows players to be some of the worlds biggest superpowers and try to bring America its independance from the British."
Final notes: It looks way better than Age of Empires, I think I saw that you are able to take up positions on walls, run into infantry with horses all with REAL looking graphics extremely detailed at that. The terrain is also very similar to what it is in real life. Try it I guess.
Looks like a pretty good game, sadly I need to wait for my geforce9800 to arrive :3 My 6200LE doesn't quite cut it lol. Also the graphics look.... AMAZING
The gameplay is exactly like all other Total War games. It's a lot like Medieval II Total war. A bit creepily simmilar even. But that's good, because I loved all other Total War games.
The land combat is a bit bland though.
